Delete your SYNC account
This page explains how to delete your account in SYNC and what happens to your data.
Option 1: in the app (fastest)
- Open SYNC and sign in.
- Tap your profile, then Settings.
- Under Privacy & Data, tap Delete Account.
- Type DELETE and confirm.
Your account and everything you created are deleted straight away, and you're signed out.
Option 2: by email (if you can't use the app)
- Email syncapp.noreply@gmail.com from the email address on your SYNC account, with the subject "Delete my account". If you signed in with Apple and chose "Hide my email", send it from the Apple ID email you used, and tell us that you used Sign in with Apple.
- To protect your account, we'll reply to confirm the request before we delete anything.
- We'll delete your account within 7 days of your confirmation and email you when it's done.
What gets deleted

Want a copy first? Use Download my things in the app before you delete. It's built on your phone, because only your phone can open your encrypted things.
A deleted account can't be restored. If you come back later, you'll create a new account.
Just want a break?
You don't have to delete your account to step back. You can sign out, turn off notifications, or end your connection from Settings → Your relationship → Connected with… → Disconnect. Your shared space is then archived for 3 months, and each of you can download what you created.
